What is the Black Women of Arizona?
Black Women of Arizona, also known as BWA or BWAZ, is a public women's social group based in Phoenix, Arizona that was created in 2016 that hosts various events curated for minority women.
How do I become a member of BWAZ?
Currently, there is no membership process to be a part of the BWAZ platform. BWAZ is open to all women in our community.
Is BWAZ a nonprofit organization?
BWAZ is not a 501C3 nonprofit organization.
Why is the BWAZ Facebook group private?
In order to provide a safe place for members of our Facebook group community, the BWAZ group on Facebook is private.

How can I attend a BWAZ event?
Please feel free to view all of our upcoming events here. In order to confirm your attendence, registration is required. If there is a fee for the event (which will be clearly posted), the fee must be paid in order to confirm your attendence. Paid events cannot be paid at the venue, unless otherwise stated.
What is the age requirement in order to participate in BWAZ events?
Most BWAZ events do not have age requirements. For events that are 18+ or 21+ only, information will be clearly posted.
I am interested in attending an event, but I do not identify as a woman of color. Can I still attend?
Although the BWAZ platforms primarlily caters to minority women, all of our events are open to the public (women only) and all women are welcomed to attend. You will not be turned away. However, please be advised that the BWAZ platform is a safe space that allows minority women to speak openly about their personal experiences as black women. BWAZ strives to create a safe, but open space for minority women to have various conversations as it relates to their day-to-day life. Descretion is advised as we do not attempt to censor topics or experiences within our platform.
Are men allowed to BWAZ events?
BWAZ is a womens only group so typically men are not allowed at the events, unless otherwise stated.
Is there a dresscode requirement for BWA events?
Effective, Janaury 1st, 2020: Dressccode requirements for BWAZ events vary. Additional information will be sent to confirmed guests, vendors, and speakers.
